Fleur De Lis Farm TN

In February of 2021, we purchased part of the original Poorhouse Farm. The Lincoln County Poorhouse Farm was where one could go if they had nowhere else. They worked together as a family farming the land while living in the dorms which are across the street. There are over 200 unmarked graves in the cemetery here on the farm. It is the most peaceful final resting place.

My name is Danielle Caudle and my husband is Jimmie. We have 5 children that we homeschool. Jimmie is military (Army) and ultimately the reason we settled here in Taft. The kids and I decided we weren't moving again! We have built fences, bought and sold animals on 4 different farms... in case you were wondering, that is a lot of blood, sweat and tears!  We are more than happy to call the Poorhouse Farm our forever home.

My parents and mother-in-law live on the farm with us. We work together planting, transplanting, growing, harvesting and caring for our animals. The farm is filled with Jersey dairy cows that are milked daily, Scottish Highland cows, duroc pigs, ducks, chickens, guineas, turkeys, geese and myotonic goats. Most of what we eat is raised right here. Food is preserved in various ways and eaten throughout the off- season. Our meat is also harvested and processed here.

Growing up, we gardened, ate fresh vegetables and had a few farm animals. Many days were spent with my Maw-Maw and my Mom canning. I started canning alone in my early 20's. My older kids have started to do the same. My Paw-Paw had us all help in the gardens from as far back as I remember. Having this farm with 3 generations on it is just how I grew up. I am excited to be able to teach my children the same things I was taught and have my parents here with us to pass on their knowledge and enjoy this journey with us.
